Platelet-Rich Plasma Treatment (PRP)

Introducing PRP for fertility. A 100% natural way to boost your own fertility. With our 2 technique treatment, we use a medication-free protocol to harness your body’s own fertility power.

What is PRP?

PRP is a type of ovarian rejuvenation therapy. PRP is a concentrated solution of growth factors and cytokines taken from a sample of your own blood. When introduced into the ovaries and uterine cavity, PRP stimulates cellular rejuvenation and blood flow, naturally and effectively enhancing your own fertility.

Types of PRP Treatments Offered:

There are two treatments by which you can receive the PRP treatment:

  1. Ovarian Rejuvenation
    1. PRP is injected directly into the ovaries to stimulate follicle production.
  2. Uterine Rejuvenation
    1. PRP is infused into the uterine cavity to stimulate natural blood flow and tissue rejuvenation.

PRP Procedures:

  • Ovarian Rejuvenation
    • This procedure is performed in our surgical suite as an outpatient treatment. To ensure you do not experience discomfort, you will be provided a pain management option of a local anesthetic or intravenous (IV) anesthesia. If receiving IV anesthesia, a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist will administer the medication during the procedure. The physician performing the procedure will use a transvaginal approach to inject the PRP into the ovaries. The procedure lasts approximately 15-20 minutes. After the procedure, you will be brought to a recovery area where you will be monitored until you recover for discharge, approximately one (1) hour. Upon discharge, it is advised that you have a companion to accompany you home safely.
  • Uterine Rejuvenation
    • This procedure is performed in an exam room as an outpatient treatment. You will be asked to assume a dorsal-lithotomy position and the provider will infuse PRP into the uterine cavity while you remain on the exam table. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and there is no post-recovery needed.

Side Effects of PRP:

Post-procedure, you will be asked to refrain from inserting anything into the vagina for 24-48 hours.

Next Steps:

After your procedure, your doctor will advise you to start monitoring (bloodwork and ultrasound) once a week.

***Results have been seen 2 to 8 weeks post-procedure.

What is the Technique to Obtain PRP?

This is a simple 3 step process:

  1. A phlebotomist will obtain a blood sample from your forearm.
  2. The blood sample will be placed in a centrifuge for 10 minutes to separate the plasma (PRP) from the red blood cells.
  3. The plasma (PRP) is transferred to a syringe.
