Molecular Lab Technologist

New Hope Fertility Center is seeking a full-time Molecular Laboratory Technologist for our preimplantation genetic screening clinical laboratory.

Essential Functions:

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Receives and accessions patient’s samples
  • Performs clinical laboratory tests using PCR, and NGS on samples collected from embryos
  • Follows established Standard Operating Procedures, laboratory policies, and reports non-conformance to supervisor
  • Performs validation of quality control material, and new lots of reagents, as well as required instrument function checks, preventative maintenance, and calibrations. Maintains appropriate documentation and reports irregularities.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues, documents corrective action, and reports problems to supervisor
  • Reviews QC metrics of clinical NGS runs
  • Ensures appropriate inventory levels of reagents and supplies, as well as assists with ordering and vendor contacts
  • Assists with responding to patient inquiries on sample status

Duties: This is a full-time position at our beautiful Columbus Circle location 5 days a week, M-F. Job duties are centered around patients so good interpersonal skills, clear communication and meticulous organization is a must. This position also involves screening potential donors, conducting consults, and administrative tasks such as filing, answering emails/ phone calls, scheduling appointments and travel (when necessary).

The ideal candidate is:

  • Fluent in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin) and English language
  • Has a college degree (BA/BS or equivalent)
  • Experience working at a medical office or corporate environment
  • Comfortable speaking to patients and willing to learn medical protocols
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
