The MINI IVF protocol is a groundbreaking infertility treatment. MINI IVF is lauded for its innovative protocol and woman-centric application in the treatment of infertility. Unlike other forms of traditional IVF, MINI IVF puts the focus on less medication and nearly eliminates the need for injections resulting in a less painful, less stressful, and less invasive treatment overall. This combination creates a more balanced, healthier approach to infertility treatment while stimulating the ovaries to produce the maximum amount of high-quality eggs in a single cycle. The ideal is between 3-5 eggs to produce a healthy embryo and a successful pregnancy.

COMPARISON WITH CONVENTIONAL IVF

In contrast, conventional IVF can include a more aggressive protocol, which typically triggers the production of many more eggs but does not guarantee the high-quality eggs preferred for viability.

At New Hope, we believe in “Quality over Quantity” every time.

MINI IVF CYCLE

MINI IVF streamlines infertility treatment and reduces the amount of time a patient spends at the clinic. As unique as each patient is, so too is her protocol – we customize treatment on a case-by-case basis. On average, we will prescribe a single Clomid pill daily, a maximum of 3 Menopur injections total (this will vary from patient to patient), and Synarel nasal spray or the equivalent administered 36 hours prior to the egg retrieval procedure.

THE BENEFITS OF MINI IVF

There are multiple health benefits to the MINI IVF protocol. In addition to a reduced timetable of about 2 – 2.5-week cycles, the decreased use of strong fertility medication reduces the risk of OHSS (Ovarian Hyper Stimulation). It also reduces the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancers, which can occur due to the prolonged use of aggressive conventional IVF drugs. Patients will also forgo painful daily injections (traditional IVF calls for an average of 20-60 per cycle) and waiting months between cycles if additional treatment is recommended.

The average cost of MINI IVF is considerably less than traditional forms of IVF due to the reduced amount of medication and fewer in-clinic appointments.
