Board Certified Genetic Counselor by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Sydney Bunshaft is a board-certified genetic counselor by the American Board of Genetic Counseling. She completed her undergraduate education at Emory University where she majored in biology. She received her Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Sydney has years of experience working with patients both before and during pregnancy, including at a New York-Presbyterian hospital here in NYC. With this experience, she plays a pivotal role in our clinical team here at New Hope. Her position includes both pre-and-post-test counseling for carrier screening as well as embryo testing. She also has the expertise to evaluate personal and family histories and advise of any further testing that may be recommended.
A goal that Sydney has for her patients is for them to feel both fully informed as well as empowered at every decision point in their fertility journey. She is here to be a resource for information and emotional support, and she hopes to reach every patient that comes through the door.
