Although men often remain fertile much longer than women, they still see a decline in their fertility as they get older and may also choose to freeze their sperm. In addition to seeing a decline in sperm fertility, there are also certain chromosomal abnormalities, such as trisomy 21 (downs syndrome) that are much more prevalent among children born to older men. Sperm freezing and baking is an option if you feel that you may want to have children at a later point when your sperm may no longer be as healthy as it is now.

As with our other fertility preservation options, we freeze sperm using the vitrification process so there is almost no risk for damaging the sperm when it is frozen/thawed. In addition, by selectively thawing portions of the sperm, we can make one sample last for several IVF cycles if you wish. It can also be convenient for couples -- making it no longer necessary to time the sperm collection with egg retrievals/fertilization procedures.
