New Hope Fertility's Donor Oocyte Program was etablished to address the need for egg donors. It's services include the recruitment, testing, qualifying and maintenance of egg donors. It is also involved in the oocyte retrieval, fertilization and transfer of resulting embryos from donated oocytes.
The program has strict testing and pre-qualification criteria in order to provide high-quality service to our patients. Donor selection is an arduous process and requires absolute attention to detail in order to ensure safety, reliability, confidence and peace of mind for everybody involved in the process.
Egg donation offers a chance for certain groups of infertile or sub-fertile women to successfully conceive and hopefully have a live birth.
Egg donation also helps to:
- Avoid the transmission of a significant genetic defect with which the recipient is known to be either affected or to be a heterozygote, or have a family history when the carrier status cannot be detected; and
- Assist in establishing pregnancy in women with declining or absent ovarian function.
The process of egg donation involves stimulation of the donor's ovaries to produce several follicles, retrieving eggs from the ovary and fertilizing the eggs with the sperm of the recipient's partner. Fertilization occurs in the laboratory and the resulting embryos (fertilized eggs) are placed in the recipient's uterus.
Eggs donors are compensated $8,000 for their time and effort.
